Tropical Rainforests
The climate in a tropical rainforest is very humid because of all the rainfall. A tropical rainforest has high rainfall and a warm to hot climate. An average of 50 to 260 inches of rain falls each year in a tropical rainforest. Tropical rainforests also have a dry and a wet season. These rainforests can have up to 80 tree species in one acre and many vines and epiphytes (Epiphytes are tree dwelling plants that are not vines.) It also has many species at every altitude. Rainforests can be Millions of years old and cover 6.3 million square kilometers or 0.2% of the earths surface.
Tropical rainforests are found in:
* Mexico
* Central America
* South America
* Africa

Temperate Rainforests
Temperate rainforests have high percipitation and cold tempetures. Theses rainforests have four seasons, with cool summers. There is at least 200 cm of percipitation in temperate rainforests and it can come in the form of snow or rain depending on the tempeture. There are little to no vines and many epiphiytes in temerate rainforests and up to 8 tree species per acre. Big coniferous trees are mostly found in these forests. Many of the species that live in temperate rainforests are ground- dwelling animals. These rainforests can be up to several thousand years old. They cover about 11,600 miles or 0.01% of the earths surface.
Temerate rainforests are found in:
* Alaska
* Canada ( Ontario/B.C)
* South western coast of South America
* Europe
* Mongolia
* Thailand
* Eastern China
* Japan
* Tazmainia
* Southern Australia
